A loan of $575 helped to improve his home.

Javier Jesus's story

Javier is a 22-year-old man, is single, and lives in the city of Chincha with his parents and siblings. He is a very friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic person who has a great desire to overcome. Unfortunately due to a lack of financial resources and because of the necessity he had to work from a very young age, Javier was not able to study for the military career that he wanted. In his free time he likes to listen to music and sometimes he cooks a delicious Arroz con Pollo [chicken and rice dish] to share with his family.

Of his own initiative, with a lot of effort and dedication, Javier works as a security guard at a commercial business in his city. He works every day and can do so for approximately 12 hours. He feels pleased doing his job and he thinks it is going well because he is responsible and because he treats others in a friendly manner.

Javier is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, as thanks to the help provided he will be able to improve his home. He wants to buy mats woven from reeds, bamboo rods, wood and other things, which will serve to repair the roof and other parts of his home. In this way, he and his family will have a more appropriate and secure environment. He will thus keep working and making an effort to achieve his great dream of having his own home.
