Hilda's story

Hilda was born in the district of Challabamba and still lives there today. The Challabamba district is located in the province of Paucatambo in the department of Cusco, Peru. Hilda is 35 years old and has a common-law partner with whom she has four children. She belongs to the Virgen de Chanca communal bank. She is a responsible and enterprising woman whose primary job is selling staple goods such as rice, sugar, noodles, oil, bread, soda, beer and other items. She has a small shop in her home where she sells her products to friends and neighbors. At this point, she is requesting a loan to buy merchandise such as sacks of rice and sugar wholesale because they are sold at a cheaper price. She is thankful to everyone for the loan and promises to punctually make all of her payments.
