A loan of $3,975 helped a member to increase inventory and expand sales.

Masasi Group's story

Fatuma M. is the leader of the Masasi group. She is thirty years old and a mother of two boys and one girl aged nine, six and five respectively. Fatuma works in the retail business selling charcoal. Her business has been in operation for six years now, and she works from 7am to 7pm daily, earning a monthly profit of $250.

With this loan she hopes to increase her inventory and expand her sales to nearby markets. She has taken out four previous loans with Tujijenge before, and succesfully repaid all of them. Fatuma is in a group with 17 other borrowers. They will share the loan between them, and help pay it back together. Each member of the group is responsible for another, therefore ensuring payback of the loan.
