A loan of $500 helped to buy corn, firewood, and lime.

Maritza's story

Doña Maritza, 48, lives in the city of Estelí where for many years she has made a living by making tortillas. She has spent four years in this business, selling door-to-door and also to eateries that order in large quantities. With this work she has taken care of her two children who are already older.

She is asking for the loan to buy corn, firewood, lime, and a larger saucepan in order to speed up her work. Her future goal is to repair the roof of her kitchen where she makes the tortillas, and her current goal is to buy products that she needs in order to make her corn tortillas. Her greatest desire is to improve the structure of her modest home.
