A loan of $775 helped to buy school supplies.

Luir Roberto's story

Luis is 47 years old and lives with his wife in the city of Ica, within the Santiago district. They have three children, ages 21,8, and 9, for whom he works hard; for him they are the greatest thing he has in his life and sacrifices himself so that they will have a better future. He had to go to work to help support his parents when he was very young and unfortunately was not able to complete his secondary education, but he hopes to do it one day. He likes to watch educational television shows and news in his spare time and sometimes cooks a delicious Parihuela to share with his family.

Luis works his small fish selling business with great enthusiasm. He rises very early and travels the city streets offering his products on his motorized tricycle. He also works nights as a security guard at a school in his district. He works about 12 hours in his business and he is comfortable getting his work done.

Luis is grateful to the Kiva lenders and thanks to the help they give, he will be able to buy school supplies for his children, now that classes have started and they don’t have all of their supplies. In this way he can improve their education and wellbeing. He dreams of seeing them become good professionals and men of means.
