Peace was born in 1964 in Bwambara. She is a mother of eight children with four children still in school. Peace is a hardworking lady and she has been able to educate her children and now some have started working.

She is a business lady dealing in coffee. She operates a restaurant from where she gets daily income. Peace first joined UGAFODE as a group client to access financial services. Afterwards she decided to take an individual loan.
With this loan she is going to finish her house which is in Kanyinya. She encourages UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) to continue assisting because it helps people to accumulate assets and it expands people’s sources of income.

The client has bought land with borrowed funds. She has educated her children and now she has built her own house. And she has been able to expand her restaurant and serve more clients.

This loan is part of UGAFODE”s Micro Mortgage Loan program.  Many of these clients are currently renting and these loans allow them to own their home and provide for their families. This may be their first home, or renovation to homes not fit for habitation.  By building and renovating, borrowers who utilize these loans have improved health and safety through a stronger structure and better protection from the elements.  UGAFODE offers these loans to cover essential costs like labour and material so borrowers can provide adequate shelter and sanitation facilities for their families.
