A loan of $475 helped a member to purchase cosmetic products for the beauty salon.

Nusrat Group's story

Nusrat is a 36-year-old hardworking woman. She is living in Rawalpindi, Pakistan along with her husband and three children. Her husband is an auto mechanic by profession and his monthly income is not enough to meet the household expenses. Nusrat wants to educate her children in good schools so that they can have a bright future. Currently she can’t send them to good schools due to the financial constraints and she is really much worried about their future. She has requested a loan from Kiva’s partner BRAC Pakistan. She is a very skilled woman and she wants to open a beauty parlor in her house to generate an alternative source of income for her family. She would purchase cosmetic products like lipsticks, creams, facials scrubs, makeup kits etc and would also purchase some chairs for her salon. She is very hopeful about this loan as she could start her own business from this loan. In this way she could help her husband in generating some income. She would spend the profit amount on the education of her children and to pay back her installments.
