A loan of $2,575 helped a member to buy basket weaving supplies.

Choxbajan Tres Group's story

Aura Marina, 33, is married; she completed four years of elementary school and has five children two of which attend school. She works weaving baskets, a business she inherited from her parents which is how she started out; to date she has 8 years’ experience. She also has her husband’s support; he’s a merchant.

She organized a group and decided to request a loan that will be used to buy basket-weaving supplies. In future, she’d like to have more capital to be able to produce more and sell at wholesale. The other group members work in crafts and in commerce.
