Joyce's story

Joyce is married and blessed with five children, three of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

Joyce cooks food for sale at the market and sells to town dwellers and passersby. She cites food leftovers leading to losses as being her major challenge in the business. She dreams of establishing a café business in the future.

With the KES 15,000 loan, she wants to purchase food ingredients such as beans, rice, wheat flour, maize flour, sugar, and cooking oil. She decided to join Yehu to access financial support to expand her business.
