A loan of $200 helped to buy fruits to increase her stock.

Lucie's story

Lucie, age 38, is married and the mother of three children, whose ages range from 8 to 22. They all go to school. She's been a merchant for six months in a market in her town. She retails fruits (papayas, oranges, pineapples, watermelons) depending on the season. She knows suppliers well. Over time and thanks to her experience in her field, she acquired a clientele that she also knows well. Nevertheless, she's constantly out of stock, because her working capital is limited, which forces her to sell all her stock before being able to resupply. She would like to increase her stock of fruits in order to better satisfy her customers and avoid getting out of stock. She will put away her profits in order to expand her business, and also provide for her family.
