Dolores is 42 years old and married with 5 children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operates a coconut production farm to earn a living. She has been in this business for over eight years and earns 1,500 PHP a month. She has been with GDMPC since 2010, and now she has requested a loan of 3,500 PHP to purchase materials for the production of copra (dried coconut meat used for oil production). She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
