A loan of $5,450 helped to purchase equipment and secure future projects.

Grace's story

With a background in office management and bookkeeping, and a trusted partner in her husband, a master plumber, Grace recently opened her own businesses to fill the plumbing service and repair needs for commercial customers in the San Antonio area.

Grace knows that to run a business effectively you must have a solid grasp of the ins-and-outs of the operations. Grace does not stand back and manage from the sidelines. Six years ago, she began learning the ropes of the plumbing trade and working on repairs for customers. She recently earned her apprentice license and plans to take courses to earn her journeyman license.

"CRZ Mechanical LLC" has been in operation only three months and has already won contracts with several commercial clients. At this rate of growth, Grace was in need of working capital to continue serving new and existing clients while waiting on receivables to come in. Without the funds generated by a loan from ACCION Texas Inc., Grace would not have been able to purchase the additional equipment needed to complete her jobs. The funds also helped CRZ Mechanical LLC to maintain a positive cash flow during this critical growth phase.

Grace hopes to take on new customers and employees as revenues increase. In the meantime, she continues to learn about the mechanics of the trade as well as improving the management of her business.
