“La Sirena” Communal Bank meets every fifteen days in the La Sirena neighborhood in Manta. The city is known for its beautiful beaches that are visited during all seasons of the year and for being a city of unsurpassed beauty with many tourist attractions. In this place, lives Valeria. She is 24 years old and single. She lives in her parents’ home and studies Marketing at the university in Manta.

In addition to her studies, Valeria is engaged in trade, selling all styles of clothing, shoes, and Cyzone products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume, and accessories for ladies). She sells door-to-door although she conducts most of her sales at the center where she studies. She has several customers there and she extends credit and collects payments every fifteen days. She has been engaged in this business for four years and it helps her move forward with her studies.

This loan is for the purchase of clothing, shoes, creams, and perfume. She had been involved in the communal bank for four years and she enjoys it because it enabled her to start her business, which provides her with earnings to pay for her educational expenses. Her dream is to complete her studies and become a businesswoman.
