A loan of $700 helped to purchase corn, rice, firewood, and meat to make food to sell.

Rosa Maria's story

Mrs. Rosa, who is 56 years old, is originally from Comarca Filemon Rivera, on the outskirts of Estelí. She is single, the mother of three children who are grown. She works selling nacatamales (corn, meat, and rice wrapped in banana leaves), which she has done for more than 2 years.
She started her own business 2 years ago, with her own money that she had saved, since she needed a way to subsist and get ahead with her family. It is then that she started to sell nacatamels. She felt very proud because her business has been very good, since she generates an income every day. This has been her first business, and she counts of the support of her family.
Rosa is asking for a loan to purchase rice, corn, firewood, meat, etc. She estimates that this loan will allow her to purchase all of the materials she needs to make her nacatamales, with the goal of increasing her sales and obtaining a greater income. Among her future plans is to be able to improve the infrastructure of her place of business, in order to offer customers a more comfortable and familiar environment.
