A loan of $775 helped to purchase chickens and balanced feed.

Monica's story

43-year-old Mónica is married to Dante, who's in the workforce. He's the father of her two children aged 13 and 8 years. She lives with her children and her spouse in a house that she owns. Mónica's business is raising and selling chickens. For that she has a small coop set up in the vegetable garden located in her house with room for 250 chickens. When they're grown and ready she sells them to sellers at the markets, although she occasionally sells them from her home as well. She has been in this line of work for about 8 years, and she gets constant support from her children and her husband. She enjoys her business because it has brought her a great deal of satisfaction, both personally and financially. She feels very good, because this way she contributes to her children's education. This is her 4th loan with Kiva, and that's why she's thankful to the people who provide the loan she needs in order to accomplish her plans. On the other hand, she pledges to make her repayments in a timely fashion.
With the requested amout of 2000 nuevos soles she'll purchase 250 chickens so that she can start a new breeding cycle. She'll also purchase more balanced feed so the animals can develop and grow adequately.
