A loan of $1,500 helped to buy fertilizer and other supplies to grow yucca and corn.

Mauricio Antonio's story

Mauricio, 35, is married and has three children. He has 20 years of experience growing yucca and corn, work he learned from his parents. He didn't have the opportunity to go to school because of his parents' poverty.

He takes care of his own crops because he has team of oxen to plow the land to prepare it. He also offers those services to his neighbors. He has to travel 35 minutes to the city to buy his supplies.

The loan he's requesting from Fundación Campo is to buy 20 sacks of fertilizer and other supplies to grow yucca and corn.

He'll buy the supplies all at once and apply them at the most appropriate time so his harvest will be productive. This way he can sell it at a good price and save money for a plot of land to build his house, because where he lives now belongs to someone else.
