The leader of this small group is Mania Palista. Currently, she sells local brew at home and is requesting a loan to buy livestock. Mania is 40 years old and married to a peasant. She has three children, ranging from age 7 to 20, all of whom go to school. Each week, Mania makes approximately 80 Sudanese pounds in profit and, with the extra capital from her loan, she hopes to start a livestock business.

Mania is joined in her small group by Agnes J., Mary P., and Anjuka A.. Agnes sells vegetables at the market and wants to buy charcoal to sell. Mary sells bread and paste at the market and wants a loan to open up restaurant. Anjuka sells groundnut at the market and wants to expand the business.
