A loan of $1,075 helped to buy livestock.

Bekmirzo's story

Bekmirzo is a cheerful and decent man of 49. He is married and the father of many children. He has six beautiful children. His two eldest sons are working in Russia, where they repair apartments and get a good income that they send to their parents monthly. The remaining children are still in school.

Bekmirzo and his wife are engaged in their own business in order to have the income to meet family needs. Previously, Bekmirzo worked on a collective farm, but there he received a small salary which was barely enough to live on. As a result, he decided to leave that job and to start his own business. He started growing vegetables and fruits, as well as fattening livestock. He rented a small plot of land and, getting a good harvest each year, increased his income, and soon purchased the land.

This year, he planted wheat because it is easier to grow. Bekmirzo's wife helps to care for the crops. But the main activity is of course fattening and selling livestock. This kind of business brings the main income for his family.

Bekmirzo now plans to expand his business and wants to buy livestock for further fattening, and he will graze the livestock on his plot of land. His accumulated funds are not enough for the purchase of livestock, so he wants to get a loan from Arvand and hopes for support.
