A loan of $600 helped to buy school supplies.

Yuri Nikolay's story

Yuri is 42 years old. He lives in the city of Ica in the district of Parcona with his young son, whom he loves and who is his main reason for living. He is a very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who does all he can to get his little one ahead. Through his own effort, Yuri was able to pursue a degree in education. Unfortunately, because of a lack of financial resources, he was not able to get his professional license and he does not practice his profession, but he would like to do so. In his free time he likes to watch TV for fun and sometimes he makes delicious rice with lima beans to share with his family.

Yuri works at his small business selling groceries and offering photocopying services on his own initiative and with a lot of hard work and dedication. He works every day for around 10 hours and he thinks it is doing well because he is responsible and he treats others kindly.

Yuri is very thankful to Kiva's lenders, as it is thanks to their help that he will be able to buy the school supplies his little one needs, such as books, notebooks, felt pens, and poster board, among others. This will allow him to have the materials he needs to complete his studies. He will keep working and applying himself to achieve his greatest dream of seeing his son become a real professional.
