A loan of $1,625 helped to buy clothing and cheese.

Dolores Maricela's story

The city of Santa Ana is known for its gorgeous landscapes and the beautiful freshwater spas that are frequented by many tourists. It is here that the members of the Communal Bank “Nueva Esperanza” meet every 15 days.

Sra. Dolores lives in this place. She is 40 years old, married, and has four grown children. Her husband is a chauffeur. Doña Dolores is a housewife who is able to generate her own income, which allows her to help her husband with the household expenses. She sells clothing through catalogs, but she also has a stand at her house where she sells cheese. Dolores works every day at both jobs. She sells cheese in the morning and her other products are sold in the afternoon. Her catalog products are offered on credit and she collects payment every eight days. Dolores has been in business for one year and is doing very well.

This loan will be used to buy clothing and cheese. Dolores has been with the Communal Bank for six years and enjoys being a member because the loans were used to start her business. Her dream is to have a car.
