A loan of $725 helped to buy soft drinks.

Lida's story

Lida, 40, is married to Amador and they have three children, ages 11, 8 and 2. They live in their own house which they share with her mother-in-law, all working together to get ahead. Lida sells all kinds of softdrinks for a living and buys her goods wholesale. She later sells them to her neighbors and to the occasional customer who stops by the house. There is a space in her house where she has set up tables and chairs next to her refrigerator. She has been in business for a year and it is going well. What she enjoys about her work is the direct contact with her customers. She also enjoys sharing her work with her husband and this motivates her to get ahead. Lida hopes to be able to set up a small bar soon so she can continue improving her profits. On this occasion, she is requesting 1,800 PEN. She is very excited and grateful for the economic support she is receiving to continue with her plans. The loan will be used to buy more soft drinks so a wider variety will be on offer.
