Rolando Jose's story

Rolando is 55 years old. He lives in the community of El Jazmín, in Teustepe. He is a farmer and the father of eight children. His beginnings in agriculture were when he young working with his father in order to be able to eat. He did not go to school so he dedicated himself to working with crops. His parents did not have the means to send him to school.

He currently sows corn and beans, and he sells his harvested crops in Boaco. When his is not sowing his crops he travels to Costa Rica to clean country houses and look after livestock, and he invests what he earns in his business.

He requires this loan in order to buy compost and fertilizers and pay for labour so he can plant his bean crops. He hopes to produce quality and high-yield crops as he plans to expand to five units of land so he can plant corn and improve livestock breeding.
