A loan of $1,200 helped to buy special needles, thread, canvas, and other materials.

Yessenia's story

Yessenia, 25, is married and has a small baby only a few months old. At the moment she lives in her parents' house with them and her siblings, ages 20 and 16. She and her parents work a lot to be able to progress and have a better quality of life.

Yessenia's job is upholstery. She works making and repairing seats and tarps for vehicles such as motorcycles and motorcycle taxis. She has a place in her house where her business has operated for three years. She has her father's help because they both invested financially to set up this work.

In addition to running the family business, she also attends a university in the city, although because of her current situation she's not attending regularly. What she likes about her job is being able to be close to the people she loves the most, because it's a family business.

Currently she'll request 3000 soles [PEN]. She's grateful to those who make it possible for her to get this loan because she'll feel more secure about making progress in her work. She also promises to make her payments punctually.

With the requested amount she'll buy upholstery materials, including sponge, special needles, thread, canvas, three-ply wood, glue, and other items she needs to do her work.
