A loan of $600 helped to buy carbonated soft-drinks.

Julia's story

Julia, 32, is married to Omer and they have two children together who are 10 and 3 years of age respectively. She lives in her mother‘s house with her husband and children and also with her siblings and siblings-in-law. Julia’s activity consists in selling ice-cold, carbonated beverages. She constantly receives at home representatives from various suppliers who take down her order to deliver the next day what she’s asked for according to her available capital. She then simply places them in her cooler and waits for drop-in customers to show up. She’s worked alone this way for three years and her weekly investment varies from 350 to 400 soles. Even though her business generates good income, she still feels that it’s too little to cover her basic household needs which is why she wants to establish a business in the health field hoping thus to improve her income. On this occasion, she will request 1,500 soles and she’s grateful to those people who provide financing she needs to make her plans reality. On the other hand, she commits to make her payments punctually. She will use the requested amount to buy more carbonated beverages to continue selling and earning more profits.
