A loan of $400 helped to buy notebooks, books, uniforms, and other school supplies for her nephews.

Marleny's story

Marley is a young woman who is 20 years of age. She lives in the District of Parcona, which is known for its warm climate and the generosity of its people. Even though she comes from a humble background, Marleny has the desire to make progress despite the adversity she has faced. She is employed as a farm worker at an estate in her city. Marleny works approximately nine hours a day and her work enables her to support her family and pay for the household expenses. In addition, she provides for her nephews who also live at her house. Marleny believes she is moving forward because she is responsible, and above all, honest.

She is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the assistance they have provided, she will be able to buy school supplies for her nephews such as notebooks, books, uniforms, and other items so that they can attend school with the things they need. Marleny continues to strive forward each day so that she can fulfill her greatest wish of providing a good education for her nephews, which would enable them to study for a university degree.
