Chea's Group's story

Chea, age 52, lives in a rural village of Battambang province’s Moung Russey district in Cambodia. She is married and has seven children. For the last 10 years, Chea has been farming rice and growing sesame. The current business earns her about 33,000 KHR per day and she manages to save about 20,000 KHR each day after expenses.

Chea has been a member of Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for four cycles already, and she completely repaid the previous loans. She has used the past loans wisely and successfully to improve her family’s livelihood. Now she is leading her group to ask for a new loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers and pesticides for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her crop yield so as to make a better living.
