Roum's Group's story

Living a wooden house in the Ek Phnom district of Battambang province, Roum is 55 years old and married with five children. The main source of her family’s income is from rice farming and cassava planting. Roum have been in this business for many years. With the current business, she can earn about 33,000 KHR per day.
This is the seventh loan for Roum with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund and she has completely paid back the previous loans. She successfully used the past loans to improve her livelihood. Now she is leading her group to apply for a loan with VisionFund. Roum is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers and seed for her farmland. She hopes to increase her crop yield and sell it for a good price, so as to improve her standard of living.
