A loan of $1,350 helped to buy construction materials so that she can expand her sewing workshop.

Francisca's story

Since her youth, Sra. Francisca has been making and designing party dresses and costumes. She also performs sewing repairs and other services. Sra. Francisca learned these skills after taking a small course offered by the government. She needed to help her husband with the household expenses, the education of their three children, and medical attention for her father-in-law who suffers from diabetes. Her father-in-law’s care is very costly because he has suffered the loss of a few body parts. Francisca is determined not to give up and provide for her children and her father-in-law who suffers from this unfortunate disease. In an interview with Credituyo, Francisca said, “I will continue to support them as long as God is with us.”

Francisca wants to increase her earnings and establish a more formal business by expanding the space where she works. At the moment, she does all of her sewing and attends to her customers from a small space in her bedroom. She also utilizes the dining table that is in her kitchen. The support she is requesting through this loan will be used to build a room for establishing her workshop. This will promote a better image to her customers, which will enable her to get more recommendations and generate a better income.

Her dream is to see her children finish their studies and her father-in-law receive good medical attention. In addition, she wants to see her party clothes become well-known in the boutiques throughout the city.
