Dinora El Carmen's story

Dinora is 52-years old and the mother of a 24-year old young man. Dinora has a hair salon located in a rented space. It is her primary source of income. Her twenty years of work experience led her to open her own business two years ago. She offers beauty services like hairstyling, haircuts, hair treatments, makeovers, manicures and pedicures. She offers her services to women, men, boys and girls. She currently offers her services every day, 8 hours a day. Dinora also sells esthetic and beauty-related products, like cosmetics, hair products etc. Dinora has a group of regular customers from her neighborhood and the surrounding areas. Because of her high-quality service, her regular customers refer new customers to Dinora. Dinora is currently applying for a Kiva loan; it is her first loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With the loan, she will purchase hair products and salon supplies, like rinses, shampoo, nail polish, scalp massagers and other items. Dinora's goal is to drive her salon forward and improve the interior as to create a completely comfortable atmosphere. Dinora plans to make a successful investment with her Kiva loan because her high season is approaching. Mother's Day is coming up, and that is a time when woman come to her hair salon to shine with beauty and celebrate the special day with the people they love most- their families.
