A loan of $800 helped to pay for an operation to remove a cyst from her daughter's stomach.

Teresa's story

Teresa is married and has two school aged children. She lives in her own two bedroom brick home with a cement floor. The house is in the area of Alto Llojeta in the city of La Paz. Right now, she works as a maid for more than eight hours a day. What little she earns is used to pay for food, education and basic utilities for her family. She is going to use the loan to pay for surgery and hospitalization expenses for her daughter. She had to hospitalize her because of a cyst she has in her stomach, and she has no cash. Teresa's dream is to improve her income and build two more rooms so her family will be more comfortable and safe. This way, she will improve her quality of life. This is the second time she has worked with IMPRO and the first time with Kiva.
