Maritza's story

Maritza, 49, is married and has 3 grown children to whom she continues to provide protection and the necessary support for their future. She lives in her own home together with her husband. Maritza sells groceries like rice, bread, sugar, eggs, milk, sausages, and other daily use products like deodorants, perfumes, gel, soap and other accessories. She runs her business out of her home which is located on the busiest street in her area. She restocks her merchandise every 2 or 3 days depending on the level of sales, always investing a good amount of money in her purchases. She started this business a year ago and runs it on her own. What she likes most about her work is that she can use her time to do other activities typical for a housewife. She says that her weekly earnings are very lucrative and this gives her a sense of calm that she will be able to cover their basic household costs. She continues to improve her business, increasing the quantity of products and basic goods. On this occasion she asks for 2000 soles to buy groceries like rice, oil, bread, sugar, eggs, milk, sausages and other things for sale in her store.
