A loan of $3,325 helped a member to purchase foodstuff for her restaurant business.

Peace Group's story

Reginah acquired a loan through Peace Group. She is 49 years old and a widow surviving with four school-aged children, and a total of five dependents. She started a restaurant business in the outskirts of Bushenyi to help meet the financial challenges of school fees and basic necessities for her family. Reginah hopes to expand her business, which started way-back in 1998, into a modern restaurant in Bushenyi. She works every day of the week apart from Sundays. Reginah hopes to purchase foodstuffs for her restaurant business. Her clients are people in and around Bushenyi. However, because of the traditional dishes Reginah prepares, she attracts people from areas far and wide and especially those who prefer 'Eshabwe', one of the famous traditional dishes made out of cow ghee. Reginah's challenges are debts, those who eat at her restaurant on credit, and that sometimes taxes are too harsh.
