Sallu G.o.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from Makeni, a city in northern Sierra Leone. This group of teachers has come to SMT, to request a loan of 13,500,000 SLL for the entire group, in order to meet their most urgent and pressing financial challenges. And at the end of each month, they can repay, using their monthly salaries. It is their school’s bursar who is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf. Sallu is the featured leader of this team. He is a native of Mabuya village, in northern Sierra Leone. Sallu is age 45, he is married to another teacher, and the couple has six children who are attending primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. Sallu has been a school teacher for 27 years. He has requested this loan, in order to pay school and college fees for his children.
