A loan of $1,525 helped a member to plow her farm.

Sakhorn's Group's story

Sakhorn is a 51-year-old mother of five children who lives in a rural village in Cambodia's Dambae district. To make a living, she and her husband have been planting cassava on two hectares of farmland for the last 10 years. Her husband supplements the family’s income by working for others for a fee. Sakhorn earns about 25,000 KHR a day and is applying for her fourth loan from Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. She also now leads a two-person loan group, and will use her portion of this loan to plow her field and hire people to help do it. She hopes this loan will allow her to earn a larger income so that she and her family can have a better life.
