A loan of $925 helped a member to buy seed and fertilizer for her farmland.

Savorn's Group's story

One of two breadwinners in a family with two children who are still in school, Savorn is a rural farmer from Battambang province. To cover their daily cost of living, she has managed to have a small vegetable garden, growing cabbages and peas as the main source of income while her husband works for others for a fee for extra income, besides helping her on the farmland. The current business has returned her a decent income to support her living, 26,400 KHR per day.

Savorn is a seventh-cycle client with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has repaid her past loans completely which has enabled her to stablize her living conditions in a proper standard of living. Now, in a group of four, she is the leader. The total requested loan amount of her group is 3,600,000 KHR. Savorn, whose loan portion is 1,400,000 KHR, will spend her loan to buy seed and fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes that she can make more income so she can buy an additional plot of farmland to make her business larger.
