Dorcas's story

Dorcas is a small-scale baker who bakes bread for sale in Mpohor (near Takoradi). She has had some form of formal education, as she is a junior high school graduate. She is married and has two children. Her husband is a driver. Dorcas has been working as a baker for close to three years. Her income is used to help her husband pay the utility bills and their children’s school fees. She plans on using her loan to purchase an increased quantity of flour and sugar to make her bread, thus allowing her to meet rising customer demand. She hopes to use the profits from her enterprise to fulfill her dream of buying a bread stand, hence helping her sell from a fixed location in the future.
