Muhtaram's story

Muhtaram is a resident of Khujand city, Spitamen region in northern Tajikistan. Muhtaram is a married 45 year old woman who lives with her husband. Muhtaram thinks of herself as a happy woman - she is a mother of two children, a boy and a girl. Her husband works in Khujand and her daughter works as a weaver. Her youngest son is a migrant worker in Russia and he sends money monthly to help his parents. The son's young wife lives with the family and works for the local nursery school. Muhtaram is a farmer and her whole family helps her. She has been making a living as a farmer for ten years. Muhtaram's father also lives with the family, he work as a supervisor for the farming co-op. Muhtaram is requesting a loan to purchase cows because she wants to expand into ranching. She will be able to raise the animals in her home. Muhtaram is planning to buy two cows and feed for them.
