A loan of $650 helped to buy a mini-tractor to support her farmland.

Kolab's story

Kolab, 52 and married, is a farmer from the Bovel district of Battambang province. She has eight children, but only two of them are dependent on her as they are still in school. To feed her family, she does rice cropping on a five hectare area; it is the only source of income. Her 13 years in the current business returns about 41,000 KHR per day. Kolab, a first-time borrower with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner), is seeking for a loan of 2,500,000 KHR to buy a mini-tractor to support her farmland. She hopes this purchase will help her reduce expenses related to the plowing fee, and will enable her to gain more income.
