Miriam Gricelda's story

Miriam has been a member of the “Futuro para un Bienestar” (A Future for Well-Being) communal bank for three years in which time she’s established strong bonds of friendship with all her girlfriends and fellow group members. She lives in the city of Cuenca, a city that safeguards its history and keeps its colonial architecture intact. The city’s cuisine is varied and delights the palates of its visitors. Its people are kind, courteous and keep their culture and traditions alive.

Miriam is 31-years-old and the single mother of two children who are 10 and 8 years of age and attending the little local school in the city. The house they live in his her mother’s and she shares household expenses with her.

Miriam works in an upholstery shop from Monday to Saturday from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon; she’s had this job for some years.

This loan is to buy a typewriter so she can work from home. Her goal is to own a car.
