A loan of $550 helped to buy a cart and quail eggs.

Neida Margoth's story

Neida’s in her second loan with the “Mujeres con Visión” (Women with Vision) communal bank. She lives in the city of Cuenca, a city with a rich history as well as beautiful colonial architecture. Its cuisine is a delight for locals and foreigners alike. Its people still keep their culture and traditions alive.

Neida, 31, lives in a common law relationship and has had two children, a five-year-old attending a little local school and her second son who is just 11-months-old. Her husband’s a merchant. They don’t own a house, they are renters.

Neida works selling cooked quail eggs, an activity she’s been doing for some time now; she works Sunday to Sunday with no fixed schedule. She will use her loan to buy a new cart for her business and quail eggs to sell. Her dream is to have a house of her own.
