A loan of $1,375 helped to buy merchandise.

Marinella's story

Marinella, 32, lives with her spouse and her two daughters in a neighborhood that combines formal and informal commercial spaces, sport and recreation facilities, one of the most important Colombian soccer stadiums, and residential areas of apartment buildings and houses where hardworking families live. Her family is no exception.

Marinella learned retail from her mother. Twelve years ago, after having been an employee in a company, she started her own business venture once she managed to put together some savings for a variety of merchandise. Her business grew little by little and she made adjustments with furniture and equipment to display her offerings.

Currently she has applied for two loans from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, an organization with which she has managed to increase her stock and her wholesale purchases for her business. She has more cash and more customers. This is exactly why she wants a Kiva loan, to respond to customer requests. She wants to expand and strengthen her business more all the time.

With this loan she'll buy clothing, footwear, paper supplies, cosmetics, and other items.

Marinella's customers will be satisfied with her opportune response, so her Kiva loan is an investment with the potential for success.
