Alex's story

Alex is 32 years old, married, and has two children, 2 and 9. He runs a retail business in Waterloo, in the eastern area in Freetown. His children are going to school. He came from a poor background and, because of that, he could not pursue his education. He has three additional dependents at home. He is very hardworking and wants to educate his children. He's been in this business for 8 years, selling movies discs and tapes and phone accessories. He describes his major problem as the absence of electric power supply in the Waterloo community. He applied for this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to buy a generator, music discs and phone accessories. He says the extra income from this loan will help him have a permanent business location and start a savings account. In the future, he would like to educate his children up to university and build a big house. He is grateful for your support. The items in the background are decorations of artists appearing in the movies.
