A loan of $1,000 helped to buy farm supplies and pay labor costs.

Concepcion's story

Concepción works growing basic grains, raising cattle and providing part-time transportation services. He’s married living with his wife and two children who are 18 and 24 years of age. He’s been doing his work for 17 years having learned it due to the need to earn income.

He will use the loan to buy farm supplies like manure, herbicide and insecticide to prepare the soil for planting and to pay labor costs to plant two ‘manzanas’ [Central American unit of land measurement] of corn. This will help him obtain larger crop yields. One of the risks is changeable weather that directly affects the crops and also the fluctuation in farm supplies prices. His dream is to continue working hand-in-hand with the Institution in order to earn higher profits while at the same time improving his family’s life stability.
