A loan of $400 helped to buy fruit, rice, beans, meat, sugar, chicken, etc.

Johanna Josefa's story

Johanna, 29, is from Managua. She’s single and a merchant by profession; she sells food. She’s had the business for more than five years. Because of the economic situation she lived in she was only able to complete fifth year of secondary school.

She started in commerce at the age of 24 with her own capital selling blended fruit drinks at home. She used profits generated from this business to start her other business which is selling food. She sells her products in commercial establishments. One of her expectations is to make the business grow in order to improve her income.

Johanna needs financing to buy fruit like pineapples and melons and rice, beans, meats, sugar, chicken, etc. She figures that the loan will help her buy everything needed in her business. Among her future plans is more business expansion.
