A loan of $200 helped to increase her inventory of food.

Sophie's story

Sophie is a 37-year-old woman. She is single and the mother of 2 children aged 12 and 16. Both of her children still attend school. She has been running a restaurant business for years and is it thanks to her business that she is able to take care of her family. Having to buy the products she needs for her restaurant at retail prices does not allow her to earn much profit, hence the importance of this loan to her business as it will enable her to increase her inventory of food - trays of eggs, oil, pallets of fish, meat and raw vegetables, and the other small things she needs to prepare her meals. This will help her to avoid daily journeys and to decrease her taxi expenses, which will also increase her profits. She will reinvest part of her profits in her business and the rest of it will allow her to provide for her family's needs.
