A loan of $1,500 helped to buy a floor polisher for her home and office cleaning business.

Irma's story

Irma is married and has three children: two sons and one daughter. The children are all school age. Irma lives in her own section of her in-laws' home where she has one bedroom and a kitchen. The room walls are brick and the floor is bare planks of wood. The house is located in the Villa Nueva Potosi district, in the city of La Paz.

Irma currently works cleaning offices and houses. She also washes rugs and bed linen. She has a few machines and detergents which she uses in her work. In the evenings, she helps her children with their studies. Irma works every day of the week so that she can pay her bills and provide her children with food, clothing and an education.

Irma needs this loan to buy a floor polisher. This piece of machinery will save her a lot of time in her work. She will get things much cleaner and will be able to charge a little more for her services. This will improve her income and therefore her quality of life.

Irma's dream is to have more machinery available so that she can do a good job and improve her quality of life. This is the first time that she has requested a loan from Impro and Kiva.
