A loan of $400 helped to increase her inventory of food items.

Victorine's story

Victorine is a 49-year old woman. She is married and the mother of 5 children aged between 15 and 30 years old. One of them still goes to school. She is also responsible for 4 other people. She has been running a restaurant for several years and it is thanks to this business that she is able to take care of her family. Having to buy food for her business at retail prices does not allow her to make much profit - this loan is therefore important to her business as it will enable her to increase her inventory of groceries; bags of groundnuts, 1 bag of rice, a pallet of fish, meats, raw vegetables and other ingredients that she needs to prepare her meals. This will help her avoid having to make daily journeys and will decrease her taxi expenses, which will also increase her profits. She plans to reinvest part of her profits into her business, and the other part will help her to provide for her family's needs.
