Rose's story

Rose lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with three children and all of them go to school. She takes care of additional family members (old parents). She sells charcoal, green bananas and sweet potatoes at the market on a retail basis. She has been in this business for the last 2 years. She works seven days a week.

She has requested a loan of Uganda shillings 1,600,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy more charcoal, bunches of green bananas and sweet potatoes. Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family

Her goals and aspirations are to build rental houses and also to buy a van for ease in transportation. She lives in her own house where the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family.
