Living Stone's story

Living Stone is 30 years old and lives in the town of Mubende in the Mubende region of Uganda. He is married and has one child, who is currently in school. For the past three years, he has been working hard to manage his small business, which sells hardware.

To help expand his business, he has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more iron sheets and cement to sell, and will help him generate greater profits and improve his family's stardand of living. Living Stone hopes that in the future he will be able to build rental houses.

Living Stone is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like him who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but whose businesses have grown too large for microloans.
