A loan of $600 helped to buy a milk cow.

Guillermo's story

Guillermo, 62, is a responsible man. He lives with his wife and the youngest of his children and he takes care of them in a house he inherited some years ago. He has been working in agriculture since he was very young, but also with livestock and as a blacksmith. “I have been making different iron tools for many years and I have many customers and a daily income,” he says.

However, this time he wants to invest in buying a cow. He has raised healthy and productive milk cows for five years, and he has customers that buy the milk he gets from them every day. “The income I receive helps me to cover many expenses, because it is safe and comes on a daily basis,” he says. This is why he wants to increase his milk production buying a cow; his wife will take good care of it.

This is Guillermo’s first loan with Kiva. He appreciates the support he has received, which will help him to improve his income. He promises to pay the installments on time. Guillermo will use the 1,500 soles [PEN] to buy a cow, taking advantage of the good price they are giving him.
